I hope that this finds you all well and enjoying the sunshine that we have seen peeking through over the last few days. Please accept my apologies for the lack of contact with you all over these last few months, but I was hoping that I would be able to write to you all with news of a date for our next St. Julie’s Day event.
Sadly that is not the case. As many of you may know there have been several changes at the school and these changes will have quite an impact on our activities this year and in the years ahead. The school is now subject to different policies and uses at the weekends and therefore there is no longer the opportunity for us to enjoy the building or facilities as we have done in the past.
As a consequence of these changes the committee has spent some considerable time and effort looking for an alternative venue but this has proved to be a very tough search and one which hasn’t proved successful although we are continuing to explore alternatives. We are constrained by the need to have a venue that is affordable, accessible and preferably one where catering facilities are available to us but despite numerous enquiries to several organisations we have been unable to locate a suitable alternative venue. I am sorry that the news isn’t more positive but I can assure you that we will continue to make investigations and will contact you if it seems likely that we will be able to hold an event before the end of the year.
However, BFNDA are keen to welcome as many as possible to their annual weekend at Hinsley Hall later this year and I have attached the letter of invitation and details as well as the registration forms for that weekend.
I hope that you all are able to look forward to a good summer and as soon as we can we will be back in touch with you all.
